St Cuthbert’s is a ‘good’ school across all areas of the inspection schedule.
St Cuthbert’s was inspected by Ofsted on Tuesday 6th February and Wednesday 7th February 2024. The inspection team rightly acknowledged the significant improvements that we have made since our 2021 inspection, and concluded that St Cuthbert’s is a ‘good’ school across all areas of the inspection schedule.
The report recognises the school’s many strengths. The areas for improvement that the report provides are focused on embedding the work we have begun. It is wonderful to see the report confirming that “Pupils benefit from the school’s vision of ‘forming great men’.” and that “Pupils are proud of the journey of improvement since the last inspection.” Furthermore, Ofsted reports that “Pupils are happy and show commitment to their learning.” and that “Pupils show respect for staff and for each other.”
Ofsted praise our “…comprehensive pastoral support” and that “a focus on relationships is central to (our) the school’s expectations.” Inspectors also concluded that “Students in the sixth form have a positive educational experience. They develop expert knowledge about the subjects they study.” Moreover, they acknowledge that “Students benefit from a rounded education. The school prepares them well for their ambitious next steps.”
This fantastic achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of all members of the school community.
