Former Apprentice of the Year Inspires Students at St Cuthbert’s
Year 11 pupils at St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School were given an invaluable insight into the world of apprenticeships during a visit from former Apprentice of the Year, Lenny McLennan, and his colleague Caitlin Gobin from Meldrum Construction. Meldrum, the company currently working on the school’s multi-million-pound Dining Hall extension, is committed to raising aspirations and broadening career knowledge among our pupils.
Lenny shared his inspiring journey with pupils interested in apprenticeships, offering first-hand advice on the various routes available within the construction industry. He also provided practical tips on how they can make themselves stand out when applying for opportunities. The engaging session left pupils feeling motivated and better informed about their future career prospects.
The visit was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we are delighted that Lenny will return in May during Vocations Week to speak to Year 9 and Year 10 boys. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Meldrum Construction as they help our pupils explore exciting career pathways.
