Year 8 at St Cuthbert's has launched the Faith in Action award, an initiative designed to encourage pupils to deepen their faith while serving both the school and local communities. The award encourages boys to not only reflect on their spiritual growth but also to take active steps in supporting those around them. This program promotes values of compassion, service, and responsibility, empowering students to live out their faith in practical ways.
The launch event was a memorable occasion, filled with inspiring moments. Music played a key role in setting the tone for the day, with a special piece written by Lewis, a Year 8 pupil, who showcased his musical talent and creativity. His composition was a beautiful expression of faith, setting the stage for the event's focus on service and spirituality.
The Year 8 hymn, which followed, was led by pupils Harvey and Conrad. Their leadership was a highlight of the event, guiding the entire year group as they sang together. The collective singing fostered a sense of unity and shared purpose, reminding the boys of the importance of working together to serve their school and the wider community.
The Faith in Action award not only celebrates faith but also reinforces the significance of making a positive impact on the world around us. Through this initiative, Year 8 pupils are encouraged to grow spiritually, develop a sense of responsibility, and serve others with love and compassion.
For those interested they must return the reply slips to the Year 8 office by Friday 29th November.
