Newcastle City Council and partners created a new careers event, My future: My choice, to support the young people of Newcastle to make informed vocational choices.
This event showcased the fantastic opportunities available within the city for all ability groups and will gave young people equal opportunity to access employers, training providers and support organisations. The event featured stall holders and speakers covering general and sector specific options. This included the city’s colleges and universities, and employers from a variety of sectors including green renewable, public services, hospitality, engineering and more.
Year 11 attended and were singled out as a cohort of switched on, polite young men with so much to offer and one person even secured an interview on the spot.
