After 90 Year 7 pupils attended trials on Tuesday night, they had their first fixture on Thursday against Dukes Secondary School, Ashington, in the English Schools National Cup. A hard-fought game ended 3-3 after normal time, with goals from Maks Zmich, Kody Banks and Ethan Lane. The game progressed to penalties. Jake Williamson in goal picked up the man of the match award for saving 2 penalties, seeing St Cuthbert's progress to the next round with a 4-1 win on penalties.
