The staff and students at St Cuthbert's would like to wish all at St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy a happy feast day. St Cuthbert's and St Benet Biscop are now linked through the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust.
St Benet Biscop, an influential northern saint, is most famous for:
- Establishing monasteries and centres of learning at Wearmouth and Jarrow.
- Bringing the use of stained glass to England.
- Having St Bede as a pupil.
- Introducing plainchant to his monasteries.
